War on Democracy

"I would like to promise and pledge to all of my voters and supporters and to all of the people of the United States that I will totally accept the results of this great and historic presidential election, if I win," Trump told supporters here in his first comments since the final debate. (

The only reason not to call Trump a fascist is that he probably doesn't know a thing about the subject. Hasn't read up on it, or much else, besides his favorite tract, Tax Codes for Billionaires: How to Go Bust and Make It Bigger.

Maybe he thinks Mussolini is something you do with clam sauce,  or marinara.

Maybe he pronounces Hitler as Hit Her (or, allow him a Queens accent, Hit Huh), followed by locker room yucks and chortles.

Otoh, reasons to think he is a fascist: mostly because he is, the DIY, truly American kind.

Racist, xenophobic, militarist, misogynist, violent and opposed to democracy.

Fascism is eternal. You don't have to know from your predecessors to get there. Don't need a reading list. It comes together on the fly.

Hey, Paul Ryan, you still support this fascist nominee of yours?

McCain, I know you have withdrawn your support. Instead, and clearly to compensate, you've stressed that the next Senate, if it be Republican, will block any and all Supreme Court nominations by a President Clinton, irrespective of nominee. That's because you're in hot water with the Trumpist wing of the Republican Party and have to show that though you won't support the fascist nominee you have other ways of suborning democracy.

Hey McCain, Trump bringing you down too.

Christie, how's it feel, being under both the George Washington Bridge bus & bust and the Trump bus, too?

When the dust clears, could be Trump will be left with only two followers, Omarosa Manigault and Rudi Giuliani.

Don't think that will get you far against the government of the United States.

Some say that Trump will, when he loses, turn away from direct political challenge to form a Trump media network. Could be. But let me say that Hitler and Goebbels, with a little help from Riefenstahl, might have generated a fantastic Nazi media empire back there in Deutschland.

Might have endured to the present day had they not preferred war.

Trump likes war, so long as he gets deferments. We'll see.
